IMPORTANT: What schools are there for you to be an American Sign Language Interpreter?
This question is REALLY INPORTANT so I really need answers. Please DO NOT just ignore my question, it is reguarding my future.
What schools in the United States are there that you can learn to be an American Sign Language Interpreter?
What are the requirements in high school or what does it take to be an interpreter?
What community colleges?
I'll do anything that it takes to be an ASL interpreter even if that means I have to think or be emersed in it. I am indeed interested in ANY information that you got to tell me. I liked that first answer. Hopefully, I get more great answers!
While at Purdue University, I took an ASL class as part of my major in Special Education. They do have a ASL program in the Audiology & Speech Sciences Dept. ASL is considered a foreign language so if your H.S. offers it as a class, take it. Knowing the basics will help at the college level. I’ll post the link for you to check out. If the link doesn’t work, just c&p it to your browser.

where can I learn how to do bible verses in American sign language?
We would like to add American sign to our Christmas play but I'm not sure where to find the correct way to sign bible verses.
I'm not too sure, but I know that the Mormon church has the Bible in Sign Language. However, I don't know if they sell it seperate. You could find a book with Bible signs, but be wary. There's a lot of pseudo-ASL languages out there. Don't use SEE sign, and don't let who signs use Pidgeon sign, because if you are wanting someone who is deaf to understand, that's not what they use. I'm fluent in Sign, so if you really really want to find a website or something and want someone to check it out and make sure it's ok, I'd be more than happy to. Just let me know how I can help.
The awesome thing about ASL is that they use the main ideas, so the signing won't be too hard to learn. Great idea, the message of Christ's birth is so touching in sign language, it just has an amazing spirit about it.
Good luck!
What do I have to do to start a career as an American Sign Language Interpreter?
I’d like to know what type of schooling and whatnot, as well as what kind of certification I’m going to need to obtain (and how to earn that certification, of course).
Thanks everyone!
What you’re going to have to do is study American Sign Language in either college or university and obtain a Translator certificate, saying that you’re licensed and able to translate correctly from English to ASL.
Do you know of any good video programs that teach american sign language?
Do you know of any good video programs that teach american sign language? I can’t learn sign by reading a book on how to do it, I do better to actually see it done. I was going to take an ASL course at the local community college, but they don’t offer it anymore. Any ideas?
I don’t know any good video programs, but you could try this website:

It has pictures and videos and lessons and it’s free
